Examples of Violations of Our American Principles

Our federal government has violated these principles in many ways, including the following:

  • Passing laws without regard to the enumerated powers in the Constitution
  • Weakening the Bill of Rights to allow the confiscation of private land for private use.
  • Imposing onerous regulations that diminish the value of private property
  • Government ownership and control of businesses
  • Restricting political speech through campaign finance laws
  • Ineffective action to stop illegal immigration
  • Appointing judges who invent laws and dictate social policy
  • Restricting the ability of law-abiding citizens to keep and bear arms
  • Voting on bills before our representatives have read and debated them
  • Confiscatory taxation
  • Running deficits and saddling future generations with the resulting debt.
  • Using the power of the government to redistribute wealth and favor certain groups
  • Passing laws that do not apply to certain elected officials
