Ohio’s press would love for the state’s limited-government movement to die so reporters can resume their usual Red vs. Blue programming without having to pause for pot-shots at conservative critics of Ohio Republican Party (ORP) leadership.
The May 11 episode of Capitol Square, a Sunday political show on 10TV in Columbus, included a prime example of this mindset at work — even though host Jim Heath is one of the most even-handed political reporters in the state.
Each week, Capitol Square ends with a “Two Sides” feature where Heath and co-host Tracy Townsend feed a series of rapid-fire questions to an Ohio Democratic Party (ODP) spokesman or ally and an ORP spokesman or ally.
