Proverbs 14:34 states “Righteousness exalts a nation but sin is a reproach to any people.” It is time for the people who love righteousness and God’s moral standard to take a stand. Today’s Parkersburg News and Sentinel newspaper reveals that the city council will hear only from the supporters of the proposed Non-Discrimination Ordinance for 30 minutes on July 11. It is a closed meeting. This eliminates any dissenting opinion. That meeting of the committee of the whole begins at 6:45 pm then the regular city council meeting will begin at 7:30 pm where they will most likely act on the NDO without hearing the opposing side. We do not favor discrimination of anyone but the proposed NDO unfairly gives protections to those who choose the LGBTQ lifestyle while discriminating against those of us who have moral, religious or conscientious objections to such an ordinance.
