New lawsuit claims it’s unconstitutional

A new lawsuit has been filed to attempt to overturn Issue 1, the sweeping pro-abortion, anti-parental rights amendment that barely passed Ohio voters in November 2023. 

Janet Porter, the longtime pro-life leader of Faith 2 Action,  explains the new lawsuit seeks to overturn that measure, bringing up a vital point—that in Issue 1 language, voters were asked to vote on several issues at the same time. The lawsuit filed by lawyers Andy Schlafly and Tom Condit makes the argument that the Ohio Constitution does not allow amendments that cover more than one issue at a time, unless a constitutional convention is held.
