If you are a regular reader of my articles, you know I have been beating the drum about the importance of grassroots citizens taking over local party infrastructures in order to win more races.
The big news on Tuesday night was “tea party” challenger David Brat’s stunning primary defeat of Republican House Majority Leader, Eric Cantor, in Virginia’s 7th Congressional District.
But, what you probably haven’t heard is the story of how the citizens successfully engaged in the party infrastructure prior to the Cantor upset. I first saw a brief reference to this fact in a New York Times article covering the Cantor loss. Here is the money quote,
