Our Democratic Governor John Kasich is again attacking school choice by putting 12,000 Ohio Charter School Students out of School mid-year due to a lack of funding. Kasich and the Ohio Department of Education are trying to spin it as if the Charter school was mismanaged, but they were told by the ECOT Charter School Administration LAST SUMMER that they would run out of money in January if something wasn’t done. Nothing was done by “Mr. Compassion” who loves to lecture you and I about how much he cares about children and the poor and how Republican’s are just too mean! What a phony!
As always with pay-to-play Kasich, there is a back story. The word on the street is that two Kasich cronies were being paid a total of $35,000 PER MONTH as lobbyist for ECOT and were kicking most of that back to Kasich as campaign donations. Word is that ECOT made the mistake of firing these two lobbyist, because they did NOTHING, and Kasich did what he always does and that is take revenge on ECOT by cutting their funding. The net result is 12,000 Ohio kids are looking for a new school in the middle of January. So much for Kasich’s compassion. None other than the Ohio Chamber of Commerce has come out to support HB 160 which elevates “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” to protected class status in the law – giving it them the same status as race, age, religion, sex, national origin, and disability. Memo to the Ohio Chamber of Commerce: THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS SEXUAL ORIENTATION OR GENDER IDENTITY – IT IS MADE UP BY THE COMMUNIST ALT-LEFT TO ATTACK OUR INSTITUTIONS LIKE BUSINESSES!
Please call you local Chamber of Commerce and educate them. Then call your Ohio House Members and tell them that House Bill 160 better never see the light of day if they want to keep their job! You can get their phone number and email address at this website.
Who cares about small business, ministries, women and children, and religious freedom?

You may have seen my statement from last Friday on the Ohio Chamber of Commerce’s endorsement of HB 160.
HB 160 elevates “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” to protected class status in the law – giving it them the same status as race, age, religion, sex, national origin, and disability.
Proponents of the bill say it’s to stop discrimination. However, they cannot point to any systematic discrimination currently occurring.
They also say it’s good for businesses – but as my statement showed, these claims are embarrassingly baseless.
My latest working title for this bill is the “Enemy of the State Bill” because it makes all people of faith in ministry and the marketplace enemies of the state for their religious beliefs about sexuality, and scientific views of biology (for example, that ideas don’t make you a woman, having a uterus, etc. does).
This legislation has been used across the country to penalize small businesses for not wanting to participate in same-sex weddings, threaten Christian ministries for wanting staff to hold to Christian orthodoxy, and mandate that biological men be allowed in women’s restrooms, locker rooms, and other private facilities.
This bill would be a disaster for Ohio. It’s simply unbelievable that the Ohio Chamber would endorse it – not only would it be bad for business, it violates the privacy rights of women and children.
