Ohio’s 100 highest-paid union officers and employees received a sum of more than $16.6 million last year. Excluding national unions headquartered in the state, 393 Ohioans were paid at least $100,000 using dues taken from workers.
Of those 393 Ohioans, 50 were paid more than $150,000 and 11 were paid more than $200,000. In a list of U.S. Department of Labor records sorted by union salary plus reimbursements, the 100th person was paid $140,879 during fiscal year 2012.
United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 75 in Dayton paid secretary-treasurer Steve Culter a staggering $400,052 in fiscal year 2012, and paid president Lennie Wyatt $350,596.
Laborers International Union of North America (LIUNA) Local 83 in Portsmouth paid business manager Gary Coleman $311,357, and LIUNA Local 860 in Cleveland paid secretary-treasurer/business manager Anthony Liberatore $292,253.
