A World Turned Upside Down

Why Should You Care About Library Books?

When a former president has been indicted for things all former presidents, and apparently vice presidents and former senators, have done and negotiated their way through; when your government is about to begin World War III with a nuclear power over a country that bans opposition parties, media and whole Christian churches; when the evidence of the Biden family corruption is so deep and wide that when asked about it the illegitimate Resident says “Where’s the money;” when excess death since 2021 has skyrocketed; when men in woman-face and women’s clothing are performing for all ages in our local city park; the issues surrounding pornography in our public libraries seems mostly inconsequential.  Only in a world turned upside down could this be the case.

As we watch with horror as our children are attacked by gender madness right in front of us, it is important to understand why it is happening.  Remove the parent and God from a child’s life and you can mold them however you wish.  It is apparent that the Powers-That-Be have gone full blown pedophilia.  The rainbow mafia has their sights set on the kids because they will never be able to convince grown adults to cut off their genitalia and explore their two spirit genders.  That’s why there are no drag shows at nursing homes.  That’s why there are no Drag Queen Story Hours being scheduled at retirement homes.  If they can get the kids while they are young, they will already have them when they become adults.

What Can We Do?

Perhaps there is not much you can do personally to assist a former president after he has been indicted.  Perhaps your impact on the invasion at our southern border is negligent.  Perhaps your opinion on the war in Ukraine is inconsequential.

You can have a direct impact on your local libraries and those political entities who are responsible for their operation.

MOVCAC Members Step Up to the Plate

When it was noticed that an appointment to the Vienna Library Board was on the County Commission’s agenda for June 8th, several citizens, led by Chad Conley, attended the meeting.  After the commission spoke with a prospective board member, the meeting was opened for public comment.

Chad Conley asked about a conversation he had had with commission president Blair Couch prior to a previous county commission meeting.  Chad indicated that during that conversation Mr. Couch said that he had witnessed a video showing someone moving inappropriate books to conspicuous spots on the library shelves.  He asked if he could get a copy of this video.  The existence of this video should be newsworthy since Parkersburg City Council, the Board of Education, and now the County Commission have all been approached about this material being made available to children.  If someone is purposefully moving these inappropriate books to where children can have easier access causing so much public consternation, shouldn’t we care to find out who that person is?

Mr. Conley asked if he could get a copy of the video.  Mr. Couch responded, “I tried to get it and I can’t.”

Mr. Conley then asked, “Can you tell me where I can get a copy?”

Mr. Couch responded, “No sir, I can’t.  They do not feel comfortable sharing that.”

Mr. Couch did not specify who the “they” were in his statement above.  It is strange that he feels comfortable using this supposed video as a defense for the library but somehow does not feel comfortable sharing that video with the public.

The sound begins at the 14-second mark

And therein lies our problem as a society.  They won’t release the January 6th video recordings because it may endanger the lives of law enforcement assets.  The local newspaper will not print excerpts from the books that are being made readily available to children because it may offend some readers.  No one has access to the code used in election machines because it is proprietary.  The school board levy passed in May 2022 and compels Wood County residents to pay tens of millions of dollars in property taxes, and it passed by less than 0.5% of the vote.  And Commission President Blair Couch has seen a video of some dastardly citizen moving inappropriate books in the library, but he can’t show it to us or tell us who showed it to him and gives no reason for the decision to hide this supposed video.

Come on you peasant!  Trust me.  I have seen it, and it is dastardly.  Your little baby eyes cannot handle what I have seen.  Trust me and do what you are told.

Chad pointed out that the library doesn’t have a copy because he asked Library Director Brian Raitz for a copy, and Mr. Raitz indicated that the video was a rumor and that he had not seen it.  How could Mr. Couch have seen this video when Mr. Raitz had not?  Shouldn’t this video be made public so that we can dispel this fiction that the public library is peddling graphic sexual material to children?

Chad Conley is running for the Wood County Board of Education in 2024; and his father, Roger Conley, has filed to run against Mr. Couch in 2024.

When Chad spoke about Mr. Couch saying these library books are the library’s problem and not the county commission’s, Mr. Couch refuted Mr. Conley’s characterization of the conversation and then said, “I know you’re trying to score political points here.”

Mr. Conley, “It has nothing to do with political points.”

Mr. Couch, “Oh, it does.  You got my competitor there (referring to Roger Conley).  You’re running for school board.”

Mr. Conley, “But this doesn’t have anything to do with politics.  It has to do with protecting…”

Mr. Couch interrupted, “I went and sat down with Brian Raitz, had a long discussion with him.  There is no pornography in our public libraries.”

“Have you seen the books we’re talking about,” Chad Conley asked?

It was at this point that Jeff Smith read from one of the books and explained where the books are displayed.

Jeff Smith, “This is a very explicit book.  We have, there’s more, there’s a list of the books.  One of them also shows a cartoon depiction of a woman with multiple men with their penises in their hand.  She’s also holding them, and the statement says ‘It is only gay if your balls touch.’  And that is in the comic book section.  There’s multiple books like that.”

The discussion then devolved into funding and budgets.

Sally Radabaugh then interjected that she’s not concerned so much with the money.  She said she was concerned about her grandchildren.  Again Mr. Couch jumped in asking if she took her grandchildren to the library.  Mrs. Radabaugh answered in the affirmative.

After Terry Hoffman spoke about her experience at the library with her grandchildren, Jeff said, “But when the statement is made that this stuff does not exist…”

Mr. Couch said, “I don’t think anyone has said that.”

But Mr. Couch himself said this earlier in the meeting.  He specifically said, “I went and sat down with Brian Raitz, had a long discussion with him.  There is no pornography in our public libraries.”

Your government-run libraries do have this filth in them, and the material is being made available to children.  One has to feel bad for Hugh Hefner and Larry Flint.  Those poor guys had to put their smut behind counters and keep it segregated from all other literary works because society knew that it was obscene and not appropriate for children.  I guess they were just born at the wrong time.  In 2023, not only is this filth available to our young impressionable minds, but now our politicians and law enforcement run cover for those providing this material to our children.

In this one meeting with the County Commission, the Commission President said he has seen a video of someone moving inappropriate material to shelves readily accessible to children.  He cannot tell you who showed him the video, and he can’t show the video to you.  The library director cannot show you the video, and said he hasn’t even seen it.  The same Commission President said during the same meeting that he met with the Library Director and determined that there was no pornography in our public libraries.  When later confronted with this pornography, he then states that no one ever said that stuff wasn’t there.

This is a confusing dichotomy; in one sentence Mr. Couch says the libraries do not have this pornographic material, and in the next he says no one said that stuff isn’t there.  Does Mr. Couch believe that pictures of women holding penises and statements like “It’s only gay if your balls touch” are not pornography?  Or, when confronted with the pornographic material available to children in his libraries, is he defending the library staff by admitting that all the material contained within either cannot or has not been vetted?

Later in the meeting, Mr. Couch spoke about kids having access to the internet on their phones and that all of this material is available to children because of the internet.

Mr. Couch said, “That’s kind of where I fall on this.  Books in the library when you have access to the internet, if they have access to the internet, they can find things that are a thousand times worse.”

This is a strikingly tone-deaf statement.  Earlier in the meeting, Jeff Smith read a section of one of the books that specifically spoke to teaching the reader how to safely lookup porn.

Jeff Smith reading from one of the books, “But it says, ‘a great place to research fantasies and kink safely is on the internet.  There are tons of people and communities out there who share your interest and have all kinds of advice.   The online world is also chock-a-block full of pornography armatures and professionals alike sharing their sexy adventures online.  When consumed right, porn can help you discover new aspects of your sexuality and help you safely explore kinks and fantasies.  But depending on your age and where you found it, porn can also be unethical or illegal to watch.’”

So, not only are we providing the porn, we are teaching them how to safely look it up on the internet?  And apparently, Mr. Couch is okay with that.

So, in the course of one meeting, Mr. Couch went from stating that this material is not in the libraries to kids have access to the internet and that’s a thousand times worse.  First of all, the internet is a private entity, and kids’ access to it should be managed by those who at the time have authority over those children.  If kids have internet at school or at the library, their access should be controlled just like their access to Playboy and Penthouse are controlled by retailers that sell those products.  And just like Playboy and Penthouse magazines that are purchased by parents, the child’s access to this material, whether printed or on the internet, falls under the purview of their parents when outside of these government-run institutions.

It really isn’t very complicated.  We restrict children’s access to movies, alcohol, tobacco, firearms, motor vehicles and sexual material outside of government-run institutions.  Why all of a sudden do our Selected leaders feign ignorance and impotence when it comes to our children having access to graphic sexual content inside our government-run schools and libraries?  Just because a child’s parent allows them to exercise their 2nd amendment rights at home doesn’t mean the school is handing out guns.  We have non-sensical political leaders spewing nonsense.

I would submit to you that most residents of Wood County would not want a picture book displaying comic book drawings of women holding onto multiple penises available to children.  My guess would be that most residents would not want taxpayer funds to be used to distribute that material at all.  Again, this is not banning anything.  Books with graphic sexual material are available anywhere books can be purchased.  Just because the government is not buying a book does not mean it is banned.

The reason that this remains important while World War III looms is that World War III looms precisely because we as a society are not holding our public officials to account.  In fact, we have become so lazy in our citizenship that we allow elections to be run over months using software that no citizen can review.  Think about that!  We allow those who run our society to be selected by machines; the votes are cast on machines and machines count those votes.  We then allow the federal government and central banks to create fiat money out of nothing.  This money is then given to our local governments for everything from crappy roads to election machines to school curriculum to resiliency centers where courts and jail cells are apparently necessary.  For those unfamiliar with resiliency centers, these are federally funded centers meant for the next pandemic.  Why jail cells and courts are needed is a question for our local political leaders. (WTAP – 13-million-dollar Resiliency Center to be built in Downtown Parkersburg)

The Fix is Up to Us

Everything is out of control because we have given up the control our Constitution gave us over our government.  We are all guilty of this.  We can no longer assume that those seeking positions of power seek those positions in order to advance society.  We must assume they are pursuing personal power and financial gain until their actions prove otherwise.

How can we take back control of our nation if we cannot even take back control of our local government-run libraries and government-run schools?  Get involved.  Remind your local politicians that they work for you.  Remind them that we live in a moral society – not a theocracy – but a society based in the knowledge of good and evil.  Perhaps if we again learn how to protect our children, we can again earn the right to live in a country based on the principles laid out by our Founding Fathers.

Until then, we must continue to sleep in the bed that our laziness made.
